A unique wedding invitation can make your wedding unforgettable for everyone. You will discover many terrific ideas that will fulfill your desire to have distinctive wedding invitations, and they don't have to be pricey either. Instead, trust your imagination to come up with inspired ideas.

Nowadays, many couples opt to have a motif for their wedding, and that makes it less challenging to think up unique ideas for your invitations. Themed weddings have been popular for quite a long period of time, yet less formal themes like hobbies and sports are a more recent trend. Should you and your partner both participate in a particular pastime, you can use it as a theme for your invitations. You're virtually guaranteed to have distinctive invitations if you do so.

You may wish to incorporate certain creative elements that reflect the ambience of the event. A fall motif, for instance, is reminiscent of multicolored leaves floating to the ground. So you could incorporate an image of a fall leaf in your design. If the event is occurring at the beach, you can use sea shells as decoration on the invitations.

Yet not all engaged couples opt to have a motif for their wedding. Some couples are more comfortable having a formal ceremony and ambiance. In this case, you'll have to work harder to come up with distinctive designs for your invitations.

With a conventional, formal wedding ceremony, be a little cautious when it relates to creativity in the invitations. For these kinds of situations, correct etiquette will have to be followed. Anything too creative will diminish the decorum of your wedding ceremony.

Nevertheless, you can still personalize your invitations in a tasteful way. Incorporate a splash of color that hints at the special occasion itself. Or incorporate a photograph of the bride and groom. Make sure it's small and discreet, with a soft appearance.

You might get more unique wedding invitation ideas from specialized printers of wedding invitations. They frequently have an individual working there who has a lot of familiarity in these matters. You're far more likely to get the ideal one of a kind wedding invitation when you work with an individual who has this kind of experience.

Preparing the guest list and sending invitations is one of the biggest jobs of planning a wedding. The right wedding invitation wording is one of the most important aspects of this. Learn how to do it right by visiting the Wedding Invitation Etiquette site.

Deciding which type of wedding invitation to choose is usually the first task that an engaged couple makes. There are many options to consider. Fortunately, even on a tight budget you may still purchase quality invitations. Today's invitation market is vast and offers a broad range of new designers from which to choose or you can go with a more traditional invitation. Here's how.

In today's economy there are obviously reasons to have a budget or have lower budget to conserve money. Fortunately, you can still purchase quality invitations at a reasonable price that will accommodate your wedding style and colors. Here are some ways to begin this process.

Looking online allows you a much more diverse selection of invitations than person might think. You are able to to choose from a wide selection of wedding vendors and compare prices, turn around times, and quality from this diverse group of websites. Often there are many specials and discounts offered online from these vendors as well as free shipping.

There's several ways to save money when shopping for your wedding invitations. Some vendors will offer la carte pricing which gives you a breakdown of the price for each piece in doing so you can eliminate any pieces that might not be necessary. For instance, rather than get an rsvp and rsvp envelope you may just want to opt for a postcard saving the cost of the envelope. Adding additional colors to the invitation will also increase cost for a letterpress invitation.

Also consider just doing the basic invitation through the letterpress printer and then adding the embellishments yourself. This is something you could both work on as a couple. Ribbons or liners and maps can be fun top do.

You can find beautiful sets of invitations that are designed to coordinate with your entire wedding party. The advantage to choosing wedding invitations at a site that offers everything you need for your wedding is that the colors available for your invitations will be available throughout the full range of their invitation supplies. That means that you can choose a simple invitation and then embellish it with envelope foil inserts, ribbons and insert cards that match each other perfectly.

There are also many options for mix and match wedding invitations. These are often sets of invitations that have many different options available for each of the pieces of your invitation set, from invitation paper to envelopes, fonts and scripts and more. By hand selecting these choices, you can create an individualized look to your invitations that speaks of the two of you as a couple without having identical invites that someone else has. This is important because your wedding is your special day and it should be remembered as unique.

How letterpress invitations can literally change the look and feel of your wedding.

To choice engagement rings for weddings can be a daunting task. What is the perfect type of wedding rings for your fiancee? What is fashionable and why is that so? How do you pick all the different kinds if you do not know what you are looking for? This guide will explain many different cuts of ring in order to help.

The color, style, and size of the ring is all very subjective. You should know what type of metal and gem your girlfriend likes before you propose. That said, the most classic and timelessly fashionable rings are on silver, white gold, or platinum bands. This is because something silver in color can look shinier and matches with more.

Diamonds are also the classic stone for the same reason. They have more sparkle and will go with any outfit. Because they are such a popular stone, a diamond ring is often synonymous with an engagement. If you get a colored stone, people may not realize that it is intended to be an engagement ring. It also signifies a less expensive ring. Diamonds are rare due to a very controlled market. Other stones are less so. That said, sometimes smaller colored stones can be used to supplement a diamond.

One ring that should be widely ignored (unless your girlfriend specifically says she likes it) is the pear shaped diamond. These are the most commonly ridiculed stone cuts. They are better suited for earrings and necklaces because they hang correctly. They just look odd on a ring and the setting is not as secure.

The best stone shapes are circular, square, and emerald cut. They are the most basic shapes that would not draw any negative attention. Emerald cut means a more rectangular shape than square cut. It fits more oblong on the finger, heading from one knuckle to the other. Many women like them because it implies a bigger stone. You can see into the depths of the diamond better and makes it look larger than it really is.

Oval rings are a slightly better option than pear shaped ones. It is like you take a circular diamond and pull it from either end, stretching it out. A marquis cut is another option, too. In this case, you take a pear shaped diamond and have it be pointed at both ends instead of rounded at one. It bulges in the middle slightly and, like the emerald style, goes more from knuckle to knuckle.

There are other things to think about apart from the cut of the stone--though this IS the biggest part. Does your girlfriend want a solitaire ring? This means a ring with just one single stone. Some women like it because it means more attention is drawn to that particular stone. It also means the stone can be bigger, since other smaller jewels are not purchased. Some like the three stone ring with two stones flanking the major one. Others like diamonds all around the whole band.

You should also think about engraving. Do you want any sentiment written on the band? How much do you want the wedding bands themselves to match each other and match the engagement ring? Is this all going to fit into your budget? Both the engagement ring and the set of wedding rings should be bought at the same time or at least fashioned to compliment each other.

Many couples trying to select their wedding invitations find that they have no clue what the invites should say. If this is the case, you are not alone. In fact, very few engaged couples have experience writing formal invitations before planning their wedding.

If you're not sure what the wedding invitations should say, start by determining the basic details of your wedding day. Where will the ceremony and reception be held, and at what time on what day? What must your guests know before they arrive? You'll also need the full names of those hosting or paying for the wedding, which typically means the parents of the couple. Other details that are important to decide before you start thinking about invitations are whether to invite children and whether to set a dress code. Both of these will impact the wording on your wedding invitations.

With formal invitations, those whose names appear on the card are those who have been invited. For this reason, you'll need a finalized guest list before proceeding with the invites. If the names of children or significant others are not written on the card, it is assumed that they are not invited. Always write your guests' names formally; use their full names, not a nickname or shorter version, even if you know them well. Formal wedding invitations should spell out the names and addresses, rather than simply writing them in numbers.

Even if the company creating your wedding invitation design will also write the wording, you'll need to select the style that you want. You don't want to ruin a very beautiful wedding invitation card with inappropriate or stilted wording. You might look around the internet for samples to get an idea of the range of styles that exist.

Although many couples focus much more on the invitation design than on the wording of their wedding invitations, both are important because they let guests know what to expect on your wedding day. The invitations should reflect your personalities, as well as the style of the occasion, whether it is casual or formal.

Wedding planner Sara Johnson knows all of the wedding etiquette rules when it comes to designing and sending wedding invitations for any wedding ceremony.

How early is too early to send your wedding invitations? Many couples today begin planning their wedding a year or even two years in advance. Because the guest list is one of the first wedding decisions made, you may be wondering when to send the invitations. Although you can send them as soon as you've figured out details like the time and location of the ceremony and reception, you don't want to send them so early that they are forgotten long before the big day. When you start planning so early, at what point in the process should you order and send the invitations?

It's never too early to start considering the design of the invitations, which serve to notify guests not only of the time and date of the ceremony, but also of what kind of ceremony and reception to expect, whether your perfect wedding is a large, formal occasion or a contemporary and casual event. The invitations should be ordered as much time as possible before the wedding, at least twelve to sixteen weeks. This will give you enough time to receive them and to address them at a relaxed pace, ensuring that you're not filling out hundreds of addresses the night before the invites go in the mail.

Now that you've ordered and received your invitations, when should you plan to mail them? For most weddings, eight to twelve weeks before the big day will be enough time. There are some situations, wherever, when it would be appropriate to give the guests several extra weeks. For example, if your wedding falls on or near a holiday, the extra time ensures that guests haven't made holiday plans before your invitation arrives. Destination weddings and theme weddings also call for invitations to be sent well in advance to give guests time to prepare.

By mailing your invitations well in advance, you'll be leaving plenty of time for guests to respond, allowing you to notify your caterers of an accurate head count or adjust your guest list to add guests who were not included on your original list.

Sending invitations well in advance of the wedding isn't just courteous, it also helps you plan the rest of your wedding. An accurate head count is needed for the caterer, and RSVPs allow you to adjust the guest list as needed, perhaps including guests who did not make the original list.

Amanda Halm is a wedding expert who can help you take your plans to the next level by sharing hints about ordering and sending wedding invitations and other steps in the wedding planning process.

Several couples are selecting for the traditional engraved invitation, as deeply rooted a custom made as entering the church to the music of Wagner and leaving to Mendelsson. Despite the many other wedding traditions that have replaced, this style of invitation has prevailed since the late 1800's, regarding to primary manufacturers and suppliers of wedding invitations.

The top selling wedding invitations of right now don't look much different than they did 100 years ago. With the exception of the 1970s, when couples sought unique wedding invitations with bright colors and innovative wordings, the standard engraved invitation has been the most favorite choice.

The engraving process embosses letters into the paper, making a raised look and feel to the exterior. The lettering, usually engraved on cream or white cotton-content paper is most often royal or traditional script. The style is simple and the wording standard, in accordance to conventional rules of etiquette.

There are many cultures related with marriage. The engraved invitation is one of them. Wedding invitations set the mood, style and tone of the wedding. For many couples who have traditional chapel weddings, the classic invitation is most ideal.

In addition to changing the wording, today's invitation can be developed to express one's individuality without breaking tradition. Many couples are asking for embossed borders or motifs to accent the standard invitation. Adding a ribbon or embossing a personal monogram or family crest are other ways to customize the invitation without compromising the integrity that the traditional engraved invitation conveys.

Etiquette 'experts' also agree that the common engraved invitation is the most right form of wedding correspondence. It is far better to write personal letters or inform your friends of your marriage by phone than to have your invitations printed rather than properly engraved. According to these experts, do it right or don't do it at all.

The rich quality and elegant look of the standard invitation is the very best way for brides to inform family and friends that their presence is greatly valued on this important occasion.

For the bride who desires to be totally proper and follow the rules of common social etiquette, following are some of the instructions

- Invitations should always be engraved.

- The paper selected should be white, or ivory, 100 cotton content paper.

- The most common lettering is script. There are a lot of models to choose from.

- In the strictest of classic standards, the groom's parents should never be listed on the invitation along with the bride's.

- If divorced parents are both sponsoring their daughter's wedding, names should be listed with the mother's preceding, followed by the father's on the next line.

- For a ordinary church wedding, the wording of the invitation must read "request the honor of your presence".

- For a wedding ceremony that is to be performed somewhere other than a church, the invitation should read "request the pleasure of your company".

- The place of the reception should never be written on the invitation itself unless the wedding ceremony is taken place there.

- There is no need to put the year of the wedding on the invitation because it is a timely celebration.

Finally, if proper etiquette is very important to you, you should follow these principles. Keep in mind that slight modifications will not mean the end of the world. After all, it is your wedding day and you should do what you feel is best for your individual situation.

Whether your wedding will be on a beach or you will just be using a beach theme, it makes perfect sense to please your guests by giving them suitable wedding favors. Beach theme wedding favors that evoke an ocean-side setting are ideal. This type of favor will help create the ambiance you want and be a lasting memento of your wedding. Each time a guest looks at your wedding favor, they'll fondly think about your ceremony.

This article will help you choose the best beach themed wedding favors for pleasing your guests while protecting your budget.

You can easily make a simple and enjoyable seaside wedding favor by placing a small votive candle inside a small beach pail, which you can purchase at hobby shops. Buy several in assorted colors. Fill each of them about one quarter of the way up with colored sand, which you can also get at hobby shops. Put a candle into the sand and tie a colorful ribbon around the pail. That's all there is to it! These are simple and inexpensive wedding favors, but they perfectly convey the ambiance of your outdoor wedding. Your guests will remember your wedding fondly when they see these favors in their home.

You can also use seashells as satisfying yet economical destination wedding favors. Beach items like seashells are stocked by party supply and hobby and craft shops. Buy shells that are unbroken and approximately the same size. While you are in the store, also pick up some inexpensive fishing net material to cut up into small squares. Place a few seashells in the center of each square, then draw the square's corners together and tie them up with silk ribbon in pink, blue or coral colors. Your guests will be thrilled with these appealing beach wedding favors.

Magnets with a shape and character related to the coastal environment also make charming favors for a beach wedding. You can choose magnets in the shape of starfish, seashells, palm trees or any other form that reflects the seaside surroundings. Your friends and loved ones will likely keep your favor displayed prominently on their refrigerator where they will see it often and be reminded of your blissful event.

Place-card holders are yet another alternative for tropical wedding favors. They can liven up the atmosphere of your reception and can also be used by your guests as mementos. Wedding and gift shops usually offer inexpensive place-card holders in shapes related to the ocean or the beach, like dolphins, seashells and starfish. They are placed on the tables at your reception and hold cards that provide your guests' names and table numbers. When they return home, your guests can slip a photo inside and use the place-card holder as a playful picture frame. They will thank you for giving them a useful wedding favor, and they'll often be reminded of your ceremony and reception.

Our final suggestions for favors, beach themed bookmarks, are inexpensive and practical. Rather than choosing thin paper bookmarks, go with something more substantial and stylish, like bookmarks made of plastic or chrome. Bookmarks featuring starfish, palm trees or even flip flops blend with your beach theme perfectly and are easy to find. They're also practical, and guests who are avid readers will especially appreciate them. You can make a beach-themed bookmark even more distinctive by placing it inside a book of romantic poems or a small photo album containing pictures from your wedding.

If you've been invited to a wedding on the beach but you've never attended one before, you may be unclear about how to choose appropriate beach wedding clothes. Most weddings are formal, and if not, they are at least dressy. But this one will be on the beach!

Is a man's designer silk suit appropriate, or should guys wear beach shorts with tropical prints? Is it better to adopt a surfer look with unkempt hair, or should you comb your hair neatly? And should ladies wear their special-occasion $500 red Prada pumps or a simple pair of flip-flops? The typical seaside ceremony is more casual than a traditional church wedding, and beach wedding clothes are usually more casual as well.

Some wedding guests are fortunate and receive invitations with hints about what they should wear. If your invitation didn't give you a clue, send the bride and groom a quick email asking for their suggestions before you start planning your beach wedding clothes. They will probably suggest some type of upscale beach attire, but no matter what they recommend, they'll appreciate your concern and the indication that you are planning to attend.

If you're still unclear after you ask, here are some guidelines to help you:

Men's Beach Wedding Attire: Forget about black, because it is usually reserved for the groom (although this restriction is usually not as strictly observed as white clothing being limited to brides). Dress slacks and a white cotton shirt with a button-down collar are usually safe choices for an informal ceremony.

If you'd feel more comfortable in a suit, go with linen slacks and jacket in a lighter color with a casual, striped shirt underneath - this will give you an air of relaxed formality and help you strike the perfect balance between casual and dressy. If you want to be more adventurous (or beachy) go with well-tailored cotton, linen or silk-blend draw-string pants or shorts and a tropical-print silk shirt.

For footwear, leather sandals are a good choice (though you want to make sure they're open enough to let the sand out). Leather flip-flops work well too. It can be fine to even go barefoot, although that depends on how formal the occasion is and exactly what you're wearing (you wouldn't want to go shoeless if you were sporting an expensive linen suit).

Women's Beach Wedding Attire: You don't want to upstage the bride with your beach wedding clothes, so whatever you decide to wear, don't out-dress her. Formal weddings give you more freedom to wear dressy clothes, but if the ceremony is casual, your best choice is the type of beach attire you might wear to a fancy resort. Cotton or rayon lightweight skirts are perfect if the wedding beach is in the tropics. You'll achieve a flawless look if you pair one of these skirts with a cotton or rayon island-style top in bright, primary colors. A well-tailored jersey dress is another ideal option.

It's usually a good idea to stick with shorter dresses or skirts on the wedding beach. Long dresses and high heels should be avoided as both can make walking through deep sand extremely difficult. An island-themed bracelet, necklace and earrings, or some similar stylish but understated "bling," are just the thing set off your outfit.

Dressy flip-flops or sandals with painted toenails finish the look wonderfully. If you choose to go barefoot, try wearing one or two pieces of foot jewelry. A toe ring, barefoot sandals or an ankle bracelet work particularly well if made from seashells, coral or other items that match your beach wedding clothes.

You've decided that your wedding will be on the beach, with the sand beneath your feet and the surf providing soothing rhythms in the background. You've chosen your date and you have found a pristine spot for your wedding. Beach invitations are the perfect way for you to announce the happy event to your guests. Your goal of course, is to convince your family and friends to share your day and celebrate your marriage.

You want to create an invitation so beautiful that your guests will frame it as a memento of your ceremony. Of course, you'll also want to keep an eye on your budget. Did you know that the average couple spends 5% of their wedding budget on invitations? For a $20,000 wedding that's $1000. You don't have to spend that much. Instead of turning the task over to a graphics designer, why not design your own?

Creating your own beach invitations may seem like a thorny challenge at first. Luckily, there's no cause for stress. With so many choices of paper, color, and type-styles, you can easily craft invitations that perfectly reflect your unique style...without breaking the bank. This is a chance for you to be as wild and creative as you would like. Have fun!

Here are some tips to fire up your creativity:

Design Your Invitations Online: If you type "design your own wedding invitations online" into your Internet search engine, you'll be shown a large number of websites that can assist you in creating the invitations for your wedding. Beach invitations are available in a number of ready-made designs which can be customized, or you can begin from scratch. The choice is yours, but both ways are free. There won't be any charge until you have your invitations printed.

Size and shape: You may want your invitations to be in the shape of palm trees, sea horses or other beach-related objects. While custom shapes are in vogue, there are downsides. The printing company will have to set up their equipment to cut the paper into the shape of your choice. This requires extra work and you will be charged accordingly. Also, the post office sometimes charges more to mail odd or oversized shapes so you'll want to consider postage costs as well. If you are minding your budget, your safest bet is to stick with square or rectangular shapes.

Invitation Graphics: What images pop into your mind when you think about the beach? Wedding invitations can incorporate pictures of sand dollars on the beach, swaying palm trees, sailboats on the horizon and other beach-related images into their designs. You can create a tasteful background for your invitations by repeating the same image of a tropical flower, a starfish, a sunset or a dolphin. You can also use a favorite beach photo or painting in your design.

Paper choices: What type of paper should you use? 30 to 50 pound card stock is optimal. This is thicker than standard paper so it prints well and resists bending and creasing during mailing. If you are more eco-conscious, opt for recycled paper. Linen and cotton paper are ideal choices if your goal is elegance. Tip: To save money, go with a cotton blend rather than 100% cotton.

Fonts for Your Invitations: The website you use to create your invitations will provide several fonts you can choose from. You'll want to select a type-style that makes you picture the beach, romance and your personal style. A font called Edwardian Script is among the most popular for wedding invitations, and it's very pleasing to the eye. Vivaldi and Renaissance are other excellent choices.

To make your beach invitations stand out even more, how about including your favorite poem, quote or song lyric? Does your husband or wife-to-be have a favorite expression they repeat often? Include it to give your wedding invitations a warm, personal sparkle that your guests will appreciate and cherish.
